Unframed canvasses have become very popular during the last couple of years and we have perfected a way of presenting ordinary photographs and posters as canvasses.
The process involves bonding a very thin film of plastic laminate to the surface of the image. Once bonded the whole piece is soaked in warm water for a couple of hours.
When it has thoroughly softened, the backing paper is stripped from the image leaving only the ink, or in the case of a photograph the emulsion, bonded to the laminate film. Once dry this is bonded to genuine art grade canvas using a special heat activated adhesive film. The resultant canvas is stretched and, if required, framed in the traditional manner.
